Medical Assistant / Medical Secretary / Phlebotomy Program

The Medical Assistant Program is a comprehensive course designed to teach the student the skills and abilities essential to function in a variety of medical facilities and other related professional medical organizations.  Medical Assistants perform a variety of duties depending on the type of ambulatory health care setting in which they are employed.  Medical Assistants will be able to use their administrative and clinical and general skills to assist in running any medical office smoothly and efficiently.

Graduates of this program will be able to perform daily administrative tasks, including but not limited to basic medical administrative duties, clerical assignments, computer tasks, professional telephone answering techniques and the ability to use and understand basic software programs, including but not limited to various data entry and word processing applications, along with internet procedures.  There is a segment within the program that covers the duties and responsibilities of processing payroll and the tasks associated wit this duty.  Graduates will leave with an understanding of what a payroll department consists of.  And will also have the skills needed to handle and fulfill the duties of a payroll processor for any medical office environment.  
 

Medical assistance This program is designed to prepare the Medical Assistant graduate with the qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities necessary in order to successfully complete and secure gainful employment within a variety of administrative medical environments settings as entry-level employment as an medical office clerk, administrative medical assistant, medical office assistant, or medical receptionist within a medical office, doctor’s office, insurance agencies, and medical accounting and coding offices.

At completion each student will be given a certificate of completion and eligible to take the Administrative Medical Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy test. Three certificates in one class.

Grievance Policy & Procedure

  1. The school has a certificate of approval from TWC to operate a career school or college in the State of Texas (S2441)
  2. The school’s programs are approved by TWC.
  3. Students must address their concerns about the school or an educational program by following the grievance process outlined in the school’s catalog;
  4. Students dissatisfied with the school’s response to their compliant can file a formal complaint with TWC, and
  5. Information in filing a complaint with TWC can be found on the Careers Schools and Colleges Webiste at http://csc.twc.state.tx.us/.
    Note: While students are expected to first use their school’s complaint procedures before filing a complaint with TWC, TWC will respond to any student complaint it receives, and will require speedy response and resolution by the school, including a possible refund to the complaint.
